KOTUKU

The elegant Kotuku (White Heron) has its only New Zealand breeding site near Okarito in South Westland where only a hundred or so birds remain. They disperse widely during winter before returning to nest.

The name Kotuku was chosen for our Medical products because the bird is both a New Zealand treasure, and like all New Zealanders has its origins in other lands.

In Maori oratory, a most telling compliment is to liken someone to Kotuku. It is a symbol of good fortune of something rare and beautiful.
