Mark's Profile
After completing school at St. Andrew’s College in 1998 Mark went on to study at The University of Canterbury majoring in marketing. He first entered the disposable consumables industry working in customer services before being on the road in a sales/account manager role. After 4 years of this Mark decided to have an extended holiday overseas before returning to NZ and joining Eagle Direct in September 2007.
Mark started out at Eagle Direct in a sales/account manager role and spent the first 6 months of his time carrying out the Disposable Consumables Usage Project (DCUP) - which was a project visiting over 20 food processing sites and looking at what disposable consumables products they were using, how they were being used, and making any key recommendations. By going through entire processing plants - right from slaughter floors to cutting rooms and general processing departments has given Mark a wealth of knowledge in this area. In early 2009 Mark had a change of role at Eagle Direct and was tasked with setting up the warehouse after they shifted from a ‘small office with 5 people’ into a much larger building with its own warehouse. Mark oversees all operations of the warehouse as well some customer service/administration work and supporting Frances in sales. Outside of work Mark likes to spend his spare time boating/waterskiing, fishing, hunting and many sports. He is a very keen rugby supporter and one eyed Crusaders and All Blacks fan, and also plays interclub squash. He has also recently joined his local volunteer fire brigade and enjoys the mental and physical challenges associated with it, as well of course as the fun that you have and the benefits of helping the local community. Mark brings to Eagle Direct a significant amount experience and knowledge of the industry . “I have been fortunate enough to have had the experiences of many areas in the company, from sales and seeing our products in action with the DCUP study, to some customer service and now on the warehousing and dispatch side of things. My current role is extremely busy and I certainly have an appreciation for time management especially when it comes to ensuring all orders are sent out same day. I have been with Eagle Direct from its early days and have seen many changes - it really is now an established company with a loyal customer base. With many new ideas and products in the pipeline there are certainly some exciting times ahead for Eagle Direct”.
